Read a variety of books (your reader from school, library book etc) .
Parents: This week we have sent a notice to support reading at home. Please support students with their reading. Talking about the book, discussing the beginning, middle and end of the story, asking questions throughout the story ….
Choosing books from the public library is a great place to visit too!
The simplest way to make sure that we raise literate children is to teach them to read, and to show them that reading is a pleasurable activity. And that means, at its simplest, finding books that they enjoy, giving them access to those books, and letting them read them. Goal setting learning conversation week. Last chance to book an appointment for the 8th, 9th or 10th of March.
Look out for passwords coming home soon for Sumdog a great interactive math website that your child can use for the year to improve their Math skills and speed. It is a very clever site which adjusts to your child’s level. So if other children or adults use it gives teachers incorrect reports and does not allow your child the opportunity to improve their skills. Please allow your child time to use this great programme at home.

children are working with Sarah Kilkolly in Room 17 or Ingrid Cooper in Room 18 or me in our class. Children have been tested and grouped according to their learning needs. Spelling skills are taught. If your children learns the words quickly, talk about what other words you might find the smaller words in.
For example it can be found in itself run in runnng, runs, but you say ran in past tense.
